1. Hoop fabric and embroidery backing together.

2. The first color in the design is a running stitch. This will serve as a trim line. After color 1 has finished sewing, remove the hoop from the machine to make trimming easier - DO NOT REMOVE THE FABRIC FROM THE HOOP.

3. Using very sharp small scissors, carefully cut the fabric AND the backing away along the running stitch. This is delicate work and care will be rewarded in the finished result.

4. Put the hoop back on the machine, and slide a layer of super- heaveyweight water soluble stabilizer under the hoop. If you prefer, the water-soluble stabilizer can be taped onto the underside of the hoop before it is returned to the machine.

Important Note !  Several layers of lighter weight water-soluble stabilizer will not produce the same results as one layer of super- heavyweight water-soluble stabilizer.

5. The second color is a light density zig-zag column stitch, which stitches together the fabric and the unhooped water-soluble stabilizer. The third color is the bulk of the design, which will cover up the cut edges and the tack down stitch.

6. When the design has finished sewing out, remove the fabric from the hoop and soak away the water-soluble stabilizer in warm water.
