Monogram Combinations

Unique Monograms combining multiple styles.

Monogram Styles Used:

Monogram: N

A monogram for a shower curtain was the project. We started with the letter N from the Gothic 8 XL Monogram Set, an interesting curvy letter with stylized "finials" at the top and bottom.

To make the monogram more formal we wanted to add some flanking brackets. Using the small open circle in the center of the N as a starting point, we looked for brackets that also had circular elements. In our Monogram Flourishes 1 we found one called "Year: 1934" that has two circles in each bracket - one open, and one with a candlewick stitch. Muted colors were chosen to blend the elements.

The overall size is 4 3/4" (121mm) tall by 5 1/4" (133mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
