Monogram Combinations

Unique Monograms combining multiple styles.

Monogram Styles Used:

Monogram: ABC

We wanted to show the versatility of our Romanesque 2 XL Monogram Set for this project - a small white-on-white monogrammed pillow.

The first step was to open one of the letters - a two-color design - an elaborate vine border with a letter in the center in a different color. Since these two colors can be isolated within our embroidery software program it was easy to delete the letter in the center, leaving only the border.

The next step was to choose a different center design. We wanted to do a three-letter monogram, so chose letters from our Arabesque Monogram Set 7, with smaller letters A and C flanking the larger center letter B. We could arrange these three objects in any orientation, and chose to align them on a horizontal center line.

Once that combination was created we joined the three letters together in one block so that it would be easy to adjust the size, since the regular version was a bit too big for the center space. A bit of visual adjustment was easy, after which the color change was eliminated since this was to be a one-color design.

The overall size is 7" (177mm) tall by 5 1/2" (139mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
